Police have published shocking footage showing a motorist executing dangerous skidding techniques on a roundabout during an unauthorized vehicle gathering, placing watching crowds at serious risk of injury.
Judicial Outcome for Reckless Driver
A 23-year-old from the local area received a 27-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, after admitting to dangerous driving.
In addition, the court issued a 12-month driving ban and ordered community service along with a rehabilitation program.

As stated by authorities, the recording was captured at an illegal car meet in the city on December 28th, 2024, showing the driver driving a pink BMW.
“This footage demonstrates the shocking incident when a dangerous driver skidded around a roundabout at an unauthorized car meet, as spectators looked on ignoring the risk of serious injury.”
Wider Crackdown on Unauthorized Vehicle Gatherings
Police representatives stated that more than 200 offences related to illegal car meets in the area have been handled in approximately 12 months.

Official Comment
An officer commented: “Residents, motorists and our roads policing teams have had enough with these crowds of motorists thoughtlessly occupying streets and car parks and we refuse to accept it.”
He added: “These events are not only a total disturbance, but they also put themselves and innocent bystanders at danger of serious injury.”
He finished: “Our efforts will persist to take legal action against these drivers and I hope these recent cases act as a warning: you will face consequences.”
